About the Institute
The sericulture training institute is located in the district of Jorhat of Assam state, 20km away from Jorhat airport and well connected by road and railway. The nearest railway junction is at Mariani about 16 km away from Titabar. The institute was established in the year 1854 and continuously producing grass root level Officials for NE region since inception. Presently the training Institute is offering a 1 year certificate course to the trainees deputed and sponsored by NE states like Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland etc. in addition to the home state Assam. Moreover it offers short term skill up-gradation training to the farmers in orientation towards modern technology. The sericulture training institute Titabar has the minimum infrastructure like class room facility, hostel accommodation, modern machineries, labs etc. for conducting basic trainings in Sericulture.
Moreover, presently, the institute has a well set up of highly technically qualified faculty members almost all of them are Master degree holder in Sericulture or Master degree with Post Graduate Diploma in Sericulture from CSR&TI Berhampore, West Bengal, CSR&TI, Ranchi Jharkhand, CSR&TI, Mysore Karnataka under Central Silk Board and Assam Agri. University, Jorhat.

Skill up-gradation training
Provide skill up-gradation training to the Farmer, Reeler, and Spinner through Govt. Farm, Reeling and Spinning Centre. Assistant Manager are conduct training in Eri Spinning Training Centre.
Exposure Visit
Provide exposure visit to the Farmer, Reeler, and Spinner in the state as well as outside the state viz. Karnataka, Tamilnadu, West Bengal etc.
