CHAWKI REARING
Chawki rearing leads to a prospective cocoon crop. Newly hatched larvae are carefully transferred on chopped succulent mulberry leaves. The size of leaves and the spacing of the rearing bed are maintained strictly to get best possible result in rearing. Care is followed upto 3rd instar.
Methods of late age rearing
The rearing of late age silkworms (4th & %th sinstars) is conducted by various methods. Farmers are however, adopting methodology depending upon availability of space, infrastructure what they have and can afford as per their economic condition. The silkworm rearing can be of 3 types i.e. (1) Tray rearing, (2) Floor rearing (3) shoot rearing.
